“Matt Miller helped us to appropriately size, design, and install our solar system last year through Palmetto. He also helped greatly through all of the steps needed to get permits, financing, and tax credits. It was a great experience working with Matt and I was very happy with the results. Our system is grid tied with no battery, and we own it outright. So we bank credits for surplus energy we put into the grid, which convert to actual dollars if any surplus is left at the end of each heating season. Now, a year later, I am still very happy with the system. After the first year, we had a small surplus production, and now have money credited at the power company. So our bills each month are now $0 ( since the meter fee is paid from this credit). We also get money for solar production credits (SRECs) --- this is not a lot of money, but getting money instead of paying for electricity is nice. I estimate no more than 8 or 9 years for the system to fully pay for itself, and much sooner if electric rates continue to rise. Overall, I am totally happy with both the system and Matt's expertise and help in getting it designed and installed.”
